Preparation

In order to carry out the recommendation of the National Council against Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents, a preparatory project was launched to discuss and develop a possible concept for a Centre for Research on Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents. The German Youth Institute (DJI) received funding to achieve this, aiming to develop a conceptual framework for establishing such a centre and provide evidence-based recommendations for creating a valid national data foundation over the course of a two-year project. To this end, proposals were developed as various working papers, with the input of academics, professional practitioners and survivors.

Project awarded to the German Youth Institute (DJI)

The UBSKM implemented the recommendation of the National Council against Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents by funding and establishing the Centre for Research on Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents (ZEFSG). The ZEFSG is designed to provide an overview of the current prevalence of sexual violence against children and adolescents, as well as other forms of violence. To achieve this, the Centre conducts surveys in schools.

The first funding round for the ZEFSG was announced in 2024. The project was awarded to the German Youth Institute (DJI).
